Hello hello dearest Ambient Radio Community!
This is our last day together before the Sonohr Festival actually starts! Our hearts are pounding and we are so excited!
In Italy, Giuseppe Cordaro and Riccardo Caspani from the Ambient Radio Crew are about to board a train in direction Bern! So please, please, share all the bits and pieces of sound recordings you did so far with us! We will use all that material to create a wonderous live performance this very Sunday night!
For those who cannot travel to Bern - there will be a livestream to follow the events from the festival page!
Tomorrow, when the festival opens, we will present Ambient Radio and the community and invite people to join us last minute! So the end of this season will be a bit special - but more to that tomorrow!
But for today, there is one last challenge, one last push! Ready, set, go!
Today, we are joining sound artist Ilona Marti. Ilona created a very special sonic experience for Sonohr titled “BEYOND VISION”. Once you close your eyes and exclude the information we gain through sight, we open up for other signals - and our sense of hearing becomes a source of orientation…
“Beyond Vision” is a binaural one-to-one performance. Blindfolded and wearing headphones, an invisible companion guides you through a journey into the unknown: “The experience leads you gently and safely through your inner images, different feelings and states of being. It is an invitation to let yourself fall into uncertainty, to trust, to give in, to be touched, and yet be entirely with yourself.”

And Ilona’s special journey is the inspiration of what we are going to do today.
Here are the instructions for today’s task:
Go back to your square. Find a spot where you feel comfortable. Listen. And now, take us for a walk. Take us again once around your square. Visit with us the main important elements of the square. Make us meet some of the people and their conversations we overheard yesterday. Take us for a soundwalk on your square.
Like always, the last exercise of the week is to create a compilation of all the material we collected so far. It is time to sort (very interesting sorting technique!!), remix and stitch together.
