New Season of Ambient Radio will start on February 7th, 2022!
Ambient Radio is many different things:
a community, where sound artists and audiences meet (Instagram, Telegram, Facebook ....)
a bottom-up school featuring daily online classes
a series of remixes created by various artists based on field recordings

The Ambient Radio Community discovers and collects the sound of natural things and explores the music of their everyday surroundings. The first two seasons of Ambient Radio created an enthusiastic community sharing their recordings on various channels with each other:
We build an ever growing library of sounds - from Germany, Austria, Chile, Italy, India, Switzerland and back to Kenya ...
The artists joining us published their artist remixes based on the field recordings of the community.

Ambient Radio x SONOHR
Season No. 3
The Ambient Radio Community is calling YOU!
Ready to join our audio adventure? Take-off is on February 7, 2022. With your help, we will build our communities’ audible spaces.
Every day from Monday to Friday, in the three weeks preceding the SONOHR festival, we will publish a short recording task for you to explore the world through sounds. All you need to participate is a mobile phone, curiosity and your ears. We invite you to share your recordings with the community and, sound by sound, we’ll build a park, a water body and a town square. Your field recordings will become part of the live performance at the festival and a podcast series, featuring other SONOHR artists and inputs from the community.

Ambient Radio
We explore the natural world surrounding us through sound.
We use ourselves and our ability to listen as instruments to understand more about the natural beings around us - stones, plants, animals, other humans. Together we refine our ways of listening to our natural environments and to our very own nature.

Ambient Radio is built through a series of simple, daily exercises and tasks that can be followed by anyone having a mobile phone at hand. The only precondition is curiosity - no special abilities or skills are required to embark on this journey.
