Season 3 Week 2 Day 6: A glass of water to start with

Hello hello and welcome to week 2!

We hope you had a relaxing and calm weekend! We enjoyed so much to follow your works - so inspiring, so well done! We are impressed!

Two weeks left until the grand finale at the Sonohr Festival with the live performance based on your recordings!

Let’s get started with a new week! We are super busy this week and meet a lot of very interesting people - so this is why we have even two podcasts for you! Here is No. 1 and here is No. 2 ! Both are featuring artists that are contributing to this year's Sonohr festival!

But first - we all drink a glass of water - it will clear our minds and nurture our bodies and then we are all ready! (simple as a kiss? or do you need a recipe?? By the way, the artist Peter Dreher is painting a glass of water every day in his work “Tag um Tag ist ein guter Tag”… what an amazing thing to do!

This week, we will explore the audible spaces that are created by water. It will all be a wet dream! (sort of ;-) or a rainy day, who knows :-))

Again, we will start really simple by recording the water fountains, water tabs, showers, dishwashers or any other items that include water in our homes. Our homes are water filled audible spaces! Well, if you think that this is boring, try to make it interesting for our ears! This guy here is a real pro with making things interesting - he sculpts water with sounds!

So we start right away with today’s task: Collect recordings from water in your domestic audible space!

Please share your sound and an image / video with us:

If you really think of it, it is impossible to let one single day go by without hearing the sound of water, isn’t it? Still we take all that flow for granted - maybe too much for granted?

Watery sounds come in so many different styles and ways - and some made the attempt to create libraries collecting them … If you want to get inspired, take an earful here at the British Library!

We are looking forward to hear how the waters of your everyday domestic life sound like!

And now, let’s wash our ears with Händels water music! ….or for those who like it the heavy way, Aeorsmith has one too!

See you tomorrow!

Love and kisses!
