Season 3 Week 1 Day 2: The Entrance and the Impossible

Good morning dear Ears around the world!

Did you enjoy your soundwalk in the park? We enjoyed the first audible replies to our letters and posts very much… Thanks a lot for sharing! What a great start!

Well today, we are meeting one of the beautiful projects at Sonohr Festival!

Tadaaaa …. Please polish your accurate ear and give a warm welcome to Claudio Landolt!

At the beginning of 2019, Claudio Landolt set his mind on recording a mountain. Departing from over 100 hours of sound recordings on the Vorderglärnisch mountain, Claudio composed a poetic audio journey combining field recordings, voice memos and seismic waves from the mountain. The work is completed by a book of poems and miniature texts written by Claudio. The website we share with you is in German language only, but if you want to listen to how the Vorderglärnisch mountain sounds, click on the first item in the menu titled “Klangstück”.

What a crazy idea to want to record a mountain, don’t you think? Well, we are also asking you to do that kind of impossible thing…. :-) No worries, before we start, Claudio shares some of his insights with us! You can listen to all of it in our podcast!

We asked Claudio about how he got started with his mission impossible… Indeed, to find the right entry is not so easy … If we want to record our park - we might start at the entrance. What is the portal like, that brings us into your park?

(Btw. if you like the idea of portals - here is a nice reference to what NASA has to say …)

And here we are with today’s task:

We invite you to go back to your park and bring the inspiration from our conversation with Claudio. Think of where you want to start to tell us the story of your park. What does the entrance to the park sound like? What do you hear? How does the sonic world differ, once you walk through the portal into the park? Share your recording with us!

Please share your sound and an image / video with us:

  • Post a film / recording (around 1 minute in length) with an image on Instagram using the #enteringmypark #ambientradiogoessonohr #ambientradio #sonohr(like this, we find your work!) OR:

  • Upload your sounds on Google drive. Please give your track the following title: yourname_day2. Like this we find your work for the weekly remix! OR:

  • Our happiness for having you with us on this journey is beaming through all the portals we might imagine! Thank you for collecting all those magnificent sounds for us!r us! us!! us!us!s!

Our happiness for having you with us on this journey is beaming to all the portals we might imagine! Thank you for collecting all those magnificent sounds for us!

With love and kisses and a beautiful pychedelic portal tune!
