Hello hello!
happy to see you - up again so early?! After you spent some time last night outside, observing the dark with your ears?
Thank you so much for taking up our sometimes rather weird tasks - we are happy you dare!

Also today, we will need quite a bit of courage… we have some explosive times ahead!
After Mount St. Helens, we will today see what happens if we add some of Etna to the story!
Giuseppe Cordaro and Riccardo Caspani - who are part of the Ambient Radio Team - are fascinated by volcanoes. As Giuseppe grew up in Sicily, obviously, there is no way around volcanoes …. ;-)
But not enough - this fascination also carried him as far as Iceland!
Listen to what Giuseppe tells about his fascination for the smoking mountains and lava streams in our Ambient Radio Podcast.
It is indeed very a very unique experience to be able to observe volcanic activity - to somehow witness the birth of Earth and to get a glimpse of the hot materiality inside our beloved planet. And then, once the lava solidifies, the elements of nature start to work on the rocky slopes again, breaking up the stone, creating space for plants and animals, washing it down, smoothing the surface and finally pebbles are transported downstreams by rivers until they end in the sea...
Giuseppe captured the circle of becoming and decay in various pieces:
Here is Glaciem and a dialogue between Island and a Sicilian ...

Today, we don’t send you out to collect more material - but for the next two days, you will work with the sounds you collected so far and go on experimenting….
So here we go with today's task:
Create a timelapse of sounds - leading us through one day at your chosen place - from early morning to night.
Combine your recordings in a way that it is possible for the audience to understand how your place changes as time passes by….
Please share your sound and an image with us:
Post a film / recording (around 1 minute in length) with an image on Instagram using the #positionfromthesun #ambientradio (like this, we find your work!) or:
Also please upload your sounds on Google drive. Please give your track the following title: positionfromthesun_yourname_yourplace4. Like this we find your work for the weekly remix! or
Alternatively, drop an audiofile into our Telegram chat!
As time passes, we understand more and more… Isn’t that beautiful?
Always, when thinking of changing times - there is Mona Hatoums wonderful artwork called + and -
You can visit it virtually here … Beautiful, isn’t it?
Have a good day…
Love and Kisses!
