Hello hello!

How are you? Did your hiking boots give you some blisters yesterday?

Today, we will visit an ideal world - as documented through sounds by different artists.

How can you transport a special moment - when life seems to be happening in an ideal world - through sounds?

Paul Paulun’s contribution to the Ambient Radio podcast shows us various references of soundart that made use of cut-ups and layered recordings. All with the idea to capture and create an ideal world. Or a perfect sound selfie maybe?

Walter Ruttman for example recorded a weekend he spent in Berlin in 1930…

The Outer Sound Project by Jess Holzworth and Jutta Koether is another example of a collage made with sounds, with the idea of documenting and at the same time creating a world. Luc Ferrari recorded the sounds of the sea in 1967 - in Presque rien (almost nothing), and Arsenije Jovanovic shared sounds of Belgrade

As we said already yesterday - by now, feel free to puzzle together your ideal world …

Slowly, we step away from purely documenting (which of course you still can do) into the realm of alchemy… We are trying to move closer to the essence of a space that you like. Through combining various sounds of this place - we aim this time at creating the feeling that emerges during the night.

When all the light is gone - how does your place sound? What kind of animals or other living beings are moving around? Maybe, there are only ghosts? Or trees whispering gently?

We ask you to create the nightly soundscape of your place… Feel free to experiment, observe and play with sounds...
