Season 2 / Week 1 / Day 2 Tuesday: Greetings from Conversano and Salento, Italy

Hello hello dear ears around the universe!

Our second day together is about to start …. We recommend a fine hot espresso to start the day with - or a cappuccino … that is one of the Italian delights we don’t want to miss…

Ok, we get distracted over here - as you might have guessed, someone of the Ambient Radio crew really does not function well without coffee…

Today, we are in Conversano - a small town close to Bari - (which surely has a lot of nice coffee places to make your day a good one!) In Conversano, they are also very good at playing handball btw. :-) Ok, back to our track!

In our podcast, Francesco Giannico tells us a bit about the soundscape of Conversano. We suggest we climb up to Conversano Castle and enjoy the view. The castle has a cylindrical tower and a polygonal tower. How might that reflect the sounds of the surrounding town?

Francesco also worked in Salento, even further South in Italy. He collected the sound of the botanical garden there, combining them into a real “Sinfonie Vegetali”. Listen to it here!

And those recordings lead us directly to the task of today.

We ask you to record the soundscape for a place / an area in nature or somehow connected to nature.

Again, we simply ask you to observe closely using your ears: Press start on your recorder, wait for one minute and press stop again.
