Good morning dears!
How are you doing? We are still thinking of wilderness....
But unfortunately, wilderness is something out of reach for many of us in our daily lives…
A big part of the world's population lives in big cities, even megacities, where nature is strongly under pressure.
But - we can create some wilderness in both our imagination and our own backyard - our very own green oases in the wilderness of the city. Next week, we will dive into that dream together...
But now, one more task for this week. Today's task is about silence. I guess, now you wonder quite much what we are up to. Speaking of megacities and urban environments, listening to our plants listening to our plants opens a pathway towards the gift of silence. It is a way to leave the humdrum of the days behind for a little while and find a focus. John Cage spoke wonderfully about silence. Listen to what he has to say.

Today's exercise is to record the silence around your plant. Maybe at night? I am sure, that when we are in a still moment - there still many sounds to hear… Explore how your silence sounds. The world is never fully still.
To get ready for this task - listen to John Cage's 3’44’’, performed by the famous Berliner Philharmoniker, conducted by Kirill Petrenko.
(it is an experiment. just try. :-) )
Today's task is to record the silence of your plant, around your plant. What does your plant sound like if it is on it's own? What sounds are still there, even if all is silent?
Please share your sound and an image (it can be a picture /drawing / film of the natural thing that produces todays sound) with us:
