Guten Morgen and buon giorno!
We meet in Zurich Hauptbahnhof at this early hour… We decided to travel by train to meet our next guest. In a little while, we will board one of those old fashioned trains… You know, not the modern ones but those where you could find a fine company sitting together in a compartimento with a sliding door … And the train goes bdmmmp, bdmp, bdmmmp bdmp, bdmmmp, bdmp…

The next guest, we want to visit, likes the sound of those trains so much, that he created a film theme out of that noise… Here, you can watch the film “Il passagio della linea” - and meet our next guest Marco Messina already on the train. Btw. we think that the movie is a gem narrating Italy and a very special train (even for those not understanding Italian, watch just for a while - it is a real delight!)

At this point, we could say - Marco Messina adopted the sound of the train… And Mélia Roger adopted the sound of breathing ….
What kind of sound would you adopt?
This brings us to the next non-functional listening exercise that Gaspare Caliri wrote for us:
Ascolto non funzionale n° 2
Choose a sound and adopt it.
Come back to it as often as you like and nourish it with your listening.
Today's task is to share with us the sound you adopted.
Please share your sound and an image (it can be a picture /drawing / film of the natural thing that produces todays sound) with us:
Post a film / recording (around 1 minute in length) with an image on Instagram using the #mysoundgarden #ambientradio (like this, we find your work!) OR:
Upload your sounds on Google drive right here. Please give your track the following title: mysoundgarden_yourname_yourplace12 Like this we find your work for the weekly remix! OR:
Post an audiotrack on Telegram!
For now, let's flatten our noses at the window of the train and watch the scenery outside passing by… Countless houses with small gardens, trees, fields, large endless fields, and the houses again, balconies, potted plants, houses covered in plants, bushes along the railway tracks… All those gardens, all those secret hidden places, they mean a lot to someone out there… isn’t this quite a magical thought? Isn’t it wonderous to travel through The Garden of Earthly Delight (as seen by Hieronymus Bosch maybe?) all the way, from Zurich to Napoli?
Safe travels, dear friends … The train ride will last all night …
See you in the morning in the bright light of Napoli!
Love and kisses, Pan, Delia and the crew
